Winston

Winston was a basset hound who loved the outdoors and his mother. He liked to play in the snow and liked to lay in the sun. He brought many moments of smiles, and when there were none, he could somehow bring one to your face. Although he is gone from earth, he is not gone from our hearts.

Mr. Little

Just happened upon this old post because I was looking for others who have had Bassett Hounds and lost them.

I lost my Bassett Hound, Mr. Little Bits of Love, on April 1st. He was a gentle giant. My cats adored him and he them.

He's with his house mate now, Bernie the Boxer. I hope to frolic with him again.

Winston, you are a handsome fellow.

I and my family lost our own Basset Hound, Penelope, on 27th December 2010. Our Hearts are broken after more than 13 years of devotion from this incredible, charismatic little girl with soft and pendulous ears.

Winston, you have a kind face and are undoubtedly a gentleman. I have a favour to ask. Please look out for Penelope for us. She will be a great companion for you and will no doubt charm you, as she did for so many others in this world. It will be a great comfort to us to know that such a fine looking Basset as you is with our beautiful old Girl.

Bassetts are angels in dogs' bodies. My beloved bassett died just over a year ago.

Be proud that you were loved by such special dogs.
