Shadow came into my life by chance when she was 3 weeks old. She had club foot and goofy teeth. The night I met her, she was going to be put to sleep as they knew she was going to have to get her front leg amputated, but I fell in love with her there and then and I knew she was the puppy for me.
I took her home, and although she was a little pain hobbling around my house, she had a massive personality in a little body. She never left my side for 15 years, but towards the end she became incontinent and was sleeping and crying all day and night. I knew it was time to let her rest so the night before, she slept on a fur rug wrapped up like a baby, and the day she was taken to the vet she had her last play in the garden. Oh how much she loved the garden, playing with the ball and toys, but this time she was really, really struggling.
I knew I was doing the best for her. At the vets, she looked at me as if to say "ok mommy, we both know it's time and it's ok," as she lay there, me cuddling her telling, her it was ok and I loved her soo much.
My little puppy is now at peace and I know she is in a better place. I love you, Shadow, more than you will ever know. I hope you are in a better place baby. Nite nite. I miss you loads, my brave little girl. XXXXXXX
