My Beloved Friend

My dog Harvey was the greatest dog anyone could ever ask for. He was my everything and I was lucky to have had him for so long. We rescued him from a shelter and he rescued me from a life of loneliness.

I will miss him til I take my final breath myself.

Samantha, I read with great sadness, your account of Harvey. I feel deeply sorry for your loss. Harvey was a very special doggie! Here is a lovely prayer someone sent to my box on finding out that my dog, Tiger had passed away and I'd like to share it with you:

"We are grateful to You, Oh God, for creating all these beautiful and most loving and faithful pets that have shared so many years with us, for entrusting them to our care and for sustaining them in our love for a measure of time.

"We understand (but most of us don't) - that all lives must die. We all knew that this day would come but pushed the thought aside and yet, Oh God, we would have wanted one more day of love and play, one more evening of watching them gulp down their doggie dinner and one more night of loud burps, belly-tickles, stretches and cuddling."

His Last Breath

Sorry for your loss. I lost my Fifi girl, July 11, 2011. Till her last breath I was with her. She didn't survive from her operation.

We do have the same feeling. It's hard but we have to move on. They're in heaven now...

So sorry about your loss. I know exactly what you are feeling. I know it's a gigantic hole in your life right now, the loss of Harvey. Great name by the way. And in a while, rescue another dog who needs you.
