Sophie Mum's Little Shadow
Herself has gone, and she took my heart with her.
Sophie, my little shadow.
Wherever I was in the home she was beside me.
At my side out in the garden, swinging on the swing seat.
At my side or on my lap when I rested.
Under my desk as I wrote.
Under my feet when I was cooking.
And in the doorway if I wanted to go through.
On my bed when I woke, in my thoughts if she was left for a time.
My heart is broken. It broke when I had to let her go to sleep.
I miss her so, so much.
My Little Lady, Sophie, My Little Shadow.
