Memorial for Jule.
You went away
After four, wonderful years - so short a stay.
We shared your life, your love, your soul
But early pain now took its toll.
Beloved dog, your death brought tears-
For you, our friend,
Why did it have to end?
The Summerlands waited
That call was fated
A summons your beautiful, weary spirit
Could not deny,
You needed rest - you'd passed your test,
While we remained earthbound
Heartbroken, but not alone.
For knowing us, you made certain another came
A younger spirit who could tame
Our wild grief
One whose love was real
Whose need we could feel.
As she grew, you taught her
How to help us remember you;
To sit like you sat, hold her head like you did,
Eat the way that you ate - yet she is unique
It's through her you speak
Keeping memory clear.
Though sometimes we grieve
You are near
Always.
