I Wanted To Die With You, Baron

I had you with me 10 years 7 months. And it went so fast. We wore out 3 vans with all the miles we drove. You were first at the door ready to go no matter what time it was.

I now think back to when you were just a little guy on the scaffold with me, taping those walls. You were my drywall helper.

We swam together, played tug of war. We even had a few cold nights sleeping in that van together when we worked out of town. You didn't care. You laid right next to me. You even made a few girls mad with the bond we had, and I took you over them every time buddy.

You had a limp that didn't seem right The doc checked your blood and it wasn't right. So we got you some pills and I thought it was going to be all right. I took you back and you were getting better.

But then came that crappy ass night. You got sick fast and didn't suffer long but seeing you laying on the floor, I knew you were going to be gone. I put on some music and said I was sorry and asked god to take you quick.

You passed in the early morning as I heard your last yelp. At that moment I wanted to lay next to you and die as well. Let them find us both. I cried for the rest of the night. But I had to be strong like you when morning broke. I put you in a blanket, brought you to the back yard and dug that hole.

You were my best buddy, Baron. I will miss and love you for the rest of my life.
