I am sad to have lost you so suddenly to a disease that I could not cure, but I am holding on to the great joy that you gave me in the last 3 years.
In the beginning it was just you and dad (8 years). Then dad and I started dating and I wasn't sure that you were going to accept me or the kids being around all the time. The day your dad asked you where your mama was and you ran to me, was one of the happiest times I can remember. You had included us in YOUR family.
In the last three days I have come to understand how much you loved the children too. When you could hardly breathe and "your brother" (20 years old) came in the door, you got up for the first time all day and walked to him. That was a wonderful moment. You put on a brave face when "your sister" (13 years old) asked you to drink some water for her. Even though it must have been so hard, you complied with her request.
You are still so loved and always will be.
